Welcome at the Department of Engineering of Cast Alloys and Composites web site. The Department has come into existence in October 2007 through the connection of three departments: the department of cast iron engineering, the department of cast steel engineering and the department of physical metallurgy.

Effect of this connection was erection of a strong research team, carrying out research works and didactic activity in the area of the engineering of cast iron alloys and composites, in the range from molecules up to ready castings weighing hundreds tons. Results of these research works are cited in the scientific and technical literature, herein in the foreign one, and utilized in didactic programmes as well in the collaboration with the foundry industry.
